Salvo ytd, & learnt actions, finally!

SMay and WanYi went to count how many times I blinked my eyes when I was playing the score!

then just after we finished playing the score,
SMay said, "eh wait i got something to say. Amanda, you only blinked your eyes twice while playing."
then SMay was telling WanYi that I can shoot laser.

anw, stuffs has been happening to our class.
like the attendance of MSt peer tutoring thingy. We went for every session & the course manager, Mr Tan K.B, said our attendance was very low.
the class only skipped last week's, then got called to see him.
apparently some guy named Edmund Tan went to complain.
SO ANNOYING.
got a lecture of 3Cs - character, changing for readiness, and one more.
talked about what failing modules and having to retake next sem.

another one was about Mr Ong over-reacting by demanding a public apology from K & LC.
seriously la.
it's just like, talking in the lecture, & K being accused of cheating in a POP QUIZ when she did not.
it's so the very -.- .

A drummer boy : Kelvin Li is upbeat about Salvo Drums

LRM student Kelvin Li has got the rhythm in him. He has always been interested in playing drums and spends some time at the arcade to play the simulated ones as well.

“I was interested in drums, to be specific, Chinese Drums. However, the only time whereby I can get to play something that was as close to a drum as possible was the simulated ones in the arcade. So when I heard the drumming sounds of Salvo during the CCA Recruitment, I was immediately attracted to it and just had to sign up!” Kelvin said about what stirred his passion for drumming and made him join the Salvo Drums.

He has since performed in numerous in-house events like TP Rawks, Temasek Regatta 2008 and the TP Open House 2008, and outside campus he has played at the National Day Celebration Dinner at Bedok and the Dragon Boat Fund-Raising Dinner organized by Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC). The first major performance that Kelvin took part in was the Combined Concert in September last year where Salvo performed four scores along with the Chinese Orchestra and the TP Latinos.

He said: “It was hectic because they were training very hard at that time and had come up with a new additional score to master.”

As the quartermaster, Kelvin is in charge of all the 30 drums in the troupe. He is currently organising a training camp for the band members. Kelvin who is in his second year, travels to the Tourism Academy @ Sentosa for his lessons everyday. But he makes it back to the Tampines campus regularly for his Salvo Drums activities.

Kelvin says he tries to strike a balance between his studies and Salvo.
“Work hard, play hard. But play harder!” he says, laughing.

This all-rounder has diverse interests. He has a Junior Black Belt in taekwondo; played badminton in his secondary school, Chung Cheng High (Main); and is now a drummer. He is also into basketball and the online game Defense of The Ancients (DOTA).
This happy-go-lucky but determined person aims to enter the Singapore Management University to do a business course, possibly Accounting.

had dinner, then went J8 to walk walk with Mum.

To me, this & next week can be rated as the 2 most horrible weeks of the year.

Have to study this weekend cos there'll be 2 quizzes on Tues & Wed respectively, and there's still drum training on Mon & Wed.
Shall try not to skip training though.
Next training will be at the Triangular Garden cos we're going to learn actions! (:
So with quizzes and some particular stuff happening this week, it was a total whirl & confusion for me.
I can just sit there and stone for 10mins without me even realising, or even stare at what I'm supposed to study for the quiz, and nothing's going in because my mind keeps wandering.

Monday, 20/7

Friggin' tired.
school from 12 to 2pm, then went Tampines 1 for lunch @ BBQ Chicken. hahaha.
then back to school, sat outside studio, and saw Clement & Marcus there. Read a little of SFP and slacked.
Shermagne came soon after & talked, while the seniors went to Studio 8 to practice their new scores.
LOL at Clement's "Leopard chasing the rat" or whatever.
super niang omg.
then had training, and I felt like the "Hollow Man".
training ended at 9plus.
& Soeng May told Chiawei that she has 2 holes in her forehead!
AHAHAHAHA.
cos SM was standing directly in front of me, & was supposed to focus.
& like how Kelvin always say, I shoot laser from my eyes.

training ended, then went home, while the seniors continued with their meeting, & the rest went opposite sch for dinner.

Today

had OBC lec in the morning, then had break all the way from 11 to 2pm cos HAP tutorial was cancelled. :D
had PIPC tutorial, then CSAS.
going to hv impromptu speech next week, god.

Had 6hours worth of lab - SFP & PIPC in a row.
cut my finger in the SFP lab.
used 3 plasters cos the wound refused to stop bleeding.
think there's something wrong with my clotting system.

bad example, but it was quite disgusting.
